Professional Career
At age 25 I plan to have my career in nursing. To become an Rn you must have either an Associates degree or a Bachelors Degree in nursing. An alternative to this would be a diploma from an approved nursing program. Rn's must also be licensed. Most colleges or universities will give you the training for the job. An Rn's duties may involve some of the following:
- perform physical exams and health histories
- provide health promotion, counseling, and education
- Administer medications, wound care, etc.
- interpret patient information and make critical decisions about needed actions
- Coordinate care with other health care professionals
- direct and supervise care given by other healthcare personnel
- conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes
